Why does each rating show a "Please dispute by" date?

Your helpdesk locks tickets a set time after they're solved. In Zendesk, an automation closes them, often after 4 to 7 days. Once a ticket is locked, nothing can be added to it, including the tag and note that record your dispute's outcome.

The two dates on each rating

Both are shown in your own time zone:

  • Please dispute by: dispute by this date so your reviewer has enough time to decide. It's a target, not a cutoff.
  • Ticket locks: when the helpdesk locks the ticket.

❗Once a ticket locks, you can no longer dispute it.

Missed the "Please dispute by" date?

You can still dispute until the ticket locks, but your reviewer may not have enough time to decide.

If your team's tickets never lock

Your team sets how long you have instead, for example: "Your team allows disputes for 7 days after a rating." After that, the Dispute button goes away.
